Gymnastics
In 2001 Holly Peterson initiated the Gymnastic Club with only six children in attendance
one day a week. With an abundance of determination, leg work, volunteers, developing a
gymnastics board of directors and fund-raising; Holly has built the club into the success it
is today.
As of 2008 we now have 2 coaches on staff, 3 class time volunteers, 26 registered
gymnasts along with now providing 4 classes twice a week.
Our goal is not only to continue expanding but first and foremost to maintain the policy
of teaching your children the 3F's of any sport;
FUN
FITNESS
FUNDAMENTALS
To ensure we are able to apply the 3F's successfully, we have categorized our classes
according to age and skill therefore striving to enhance your child's enjoyment of the
sport and still offer room for advancement.
Our Toddler Class has been designed with a lesson plan for ages 3 to 5 years old. In this
class not only are they learning the basics of gymnastics they are also further developing
their listening skills and co-ordination through running various circuits and playing
games. ( 1/2 hour class)
Our Tumbler Class has been designed with a lesson plan for ages 5 to 9 years old. In this
class we begin teaching skills from Can Gym, along with learning to use the skills taught
to develop routines on the various apparatus. ( 1 hour class)
Our Advanced Tumblers Class has been designed for ages 5 to 9 years old. This class
further develops on the previous skills learned while allowing for a more serious outlook
on the sport. From this class further advancement for a more serious gymnast is
recognized while acknowledging each participant's skill levels will vary. ( 1 hr class)
Our Fun Flipper Class has been designed for multiple age groups. We developed this
class for the recreational athlete who is striving strictly for exercise, fun & developing
new friendships. Rather than a more structured gymnastics plan; your children will play
more games and circuits using the basic skills of gymnastics only. ( 1 hr class)
Classes run in 2 sessions per year - Spring and Fall. We look forward to welcoming your
child into the Gymnastics experience.
